Knowing

This story starts with Nicolas Cage’s movie son getting a cryptic number-laden message from a 50 year old time capsule that has predicted every major disaster for the last 5 decades. When Cage finds this out there are only three predictions left.

Suspenseful.  This movie kept me on the edge of the couch thee entire time. The whole movie seemed like it could all be true except for the mysterious men appearing here and there, but then at the end it turned into a complete Sci-Fi movie and wasn’t believable at all. I thought maybe it was going to be based off of the rapture from the bible where the Earth is destroyed by fire (which they made it seem), but aliens took that over and ruined it! Well I’m just rambling, I’m still freaked out and tired at the same time…  3/4 of the movie was very riviting, the last bit - snooze alert.

Yeah right! You weren’t on the edge of the couch. You were rapped around my leg like a scared puppy. You also pretty much told people the entire movie and the big surprise at the end - aliens. Oh well. And you definitely weren’t snoozing at the end. When you found out it was aliens, you were squeezing so hard that I lost circulation in the bottom half of my body.

Just another sci-fi film in the end, but this one did a great job of keeping you wondering. I really had no idea how it was all going to connect in the end. I actually thought something spiritual was going to happen.

The movie basicly says that the bible is true, it’s just carried out by aliens. There is a rapture by fire, angel aliens that save a few people (sorry, children only), and a heaven (other planet) where all the children go to dance around a tree of life. Sounds like this movie is going to be a cult classic. Hee hee.

Well said hun.  You can explain stuff better than I can.

Final Verdict

I give this movie a definite thumbs up.  Although it had it’s scary moments, I couldn’t look away ‘cause I had to see how it was going to play out.  Guys, watch this movie with a girl (she’ll be all over you for 2 hours).

It was good going down, but left a bad aftertaste. Does every movie with an unexplainable plot (and cult for that matter) need to rely on aliens to save it? My girlfriend will think everything is an alien now for a few days. Ugh.
