This site now works
This site has been improved a little so that it can actually be usable. The email function when leaving comments should work now. Not even Ash or I were getting notifications when someone made comments, so had no idea when people made any. My bad. Added an RSS feed which you should see in the bar at the right. The feed will show the latest posts from me, Ash, movie reviews, and posts that we do together. Movie reviews and posts we do together will not show the full post since I think that content needs to have some design to it as you can see in one of our movie reviews. Lastly, the headings should be showing up in a comic font called Komika Display. I tried every kind of way to get this to work, but finally found Font squirrel and their @font-face kits.
Before, this site was just a trophy wife that looked pretty. Now that trophy wife can cook and clean. Probably not the best analogy to use for the ladies, but it works the other way too. Before, it was Brad Pitt. Now it’s Brad Pitt and he takes the garbage out and puts the seat down.
Anyway, a lot has changed since my last post months ago. Obviously Ash has been talking about the marriage stuff. In addition to that I lost my job back at the end of December. Since then I have been reworking all of my websites scattered through the interweb. The blogs at cadeh.com and Caveman Creations have been removed and the sites have been simplified. Flash Image Gallery has been updated as I redid the flash app from scratch and am trying to sell it. It’s going OK, but definitely not enough and as HTML5 gains support this type of flash app will be gone in a few years. Will be working on a new site for Art Dojo. I have some different ideas for it.
I also have one new site at Big little host. My sites were being hosted all over the place so I decided it would be easier to just get a reseller account at Host Gator and move them all to one spot. It’s also cheaper. “Big Little” was made up on the fly. Should have thought that out a little further. I’m using it to try and sell web development services. My old fall back.
Web development has become a lot simpler since a few years ago. There are so many robust applications like Magento and Expression Engine that make it easy to deliver a dynamic site that can be updated by normal people. Makes me think that freelance web development may become a dieing profession in the future.
