Big Changes
Haven’t been on here in so long. Just a quick update. My house purchase was official on the 15th of October. I’ve been here a month already and love it. First big project (besides painting) was the master bdrm floor. Cade ripped out the carpeting, removed all the glue with a heat gun (inch by inch by inch) and then had the floor professionally sanded. It came out beautiful. I bought a gallon of dark walnut stain and applied that to the floor as well and Cade went over top with some sealer. A few days later…we have a gorgeous “dance floor.” I didn’t think it would come out as well as it did. Aside from the time it took to get it all done (about 3 weeks, we used an oil-based stain/sealer), it was well worth it.
Now on to the birthday. I turned 25 on the 20th of October. Cade decided it would be nice to cook me dinner. We had steak, steamed veggies, potatoes. Very good. Then he let me open a birthday goodie bag of vitamin waters and sobe life water, etc. and he also gave me a gift certificate to get my hair done. All in all a good birthday night.
After all that was said and done; we decided to relax a bit on the couch when Cade suddenly realized he wanted to listen to this “school news report” on the radio at 7. I said, “That’s fine, I can watch The Biggest Loser afterwards.” 7 rolled around and the “news” program turned into a special song request just for me to celebrate my birthday. The song began to play and I recognized that the voice on the radio was none other than my sweetheart Cade singing a romantic song that he wrote himself which turned into a proposal at the end. (he was also playing the quitar too). Here are the lyrics that melted my heart right there on the spot.
It’s the rainbow after the rain
It’s the cry of the babe after the pain
It’s the unexpected kiss when everything feels the same
It’s the wonder of God’s grace, in our shame.
I didn’t know how, but it’s plan to see
That miracles can happen
One happened to me
It’s a miracle…miracle…miracle…miracle.
We’ve all heard the story of the princess in distress
Dragons steal her away and the prince cleans up the mess
It’s happily ever after or so the story goes
How they made it all those years the story never shows.
All the ups and downs that put their love to the flames
The fire made them stronger cause of all they overcame
It’s a Miracle….Miracle…Miracle…Miracle
I don’t have a castle and a prince I am not
but if it’s love you need then that’s all I got
My dear Ashley, by now you know it’s me
Now look into my eyes as I get down on one knee.
The good Lord has blessed me to have you in my life
Will He bless me again?
Oh Ashley, will you be… my… wife?
That’s my proposal written above! Can you believe it. My answer was YES of course! What a blessing this man is in my life and I’m so thankful God has brought us together. I can’t wait to share my life with his.
My blogs from here on out will probably consist of wedding plans…....get ready :o)
God Bless!
